CR CREDIT: A CR grade indicates the student has passed the course and received credit. No value in grade point average calculation
NC No Credit: A NC grade indicates the student has not passed the course and not received credit. No value in grade point average calculation
AU An Audit grade is given when the student is auditing, or observing, the class. Students must ask the course instructor for permission to audit the course; otherwise, the instructor may arbitrarily drop the student from the course.

An Audit grade is not factored into the student’s grade point average calculation.
No value in grade point average calculation
I An Authorized Incomplete (I) grade is given when a portion of the required coursework has not been completed due to unforeseen circumstances.

Note: University Senate Policy allows one calendar year to remove an Incomplete grade. SDSU does not allow I grades to be removed beyond the one year deadline.
No value in grade point average calculation
IC Failure to complete the work assigned for an Authorized Incomplete grade within one calendar year will result in an Incomplete Charged grade to be assigned. If the course was originally taken CR/NC, the Authorized Incomplete will be charged as an NC grade if not resolved within one academic year.

Any special circumstances need to be brought to the attention of the Office of the Registrar.

Note: Incompletes may not be changed if the student has graduated.
