January
Mid-January Fall 2026 admitted students who submitted a nonrejected 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) can view their 2026-27 financial aid eligibility on my.SDSU.
February
Mid-February Fall 2026 class schedule is available.
Late February Fall 2026 student registration appointments are available in my.SDSU. Students can begin adding courses to their shopping cart. Review How Do I View My Registration Window? to learn more.
March
March 2 The California priority filing deadline for state aid (Cal Grants and Middle Class Scholarships). Students need to file the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) before this date to be considered for the most aid possible.
March 9 The SDSU Aztec Scholarships application opens to students for awards in the 2026-27 academic year. Log in to the Aztec Scholarships portal to apply.
April
April 10 Final day for students to meet the Current Student Early Action Deadline in Aztec Scholarships to be considered for award decisions made this spring for the 2026-27 academic year (11:59 p.m.)
April 13 Fall 2026 registration begins. Students must check the my.SDSU Financial Account tile for the payment deadline.
April 13 Applications available for fall 2026 graduation with a bachelor's degree or advanced degree. Undergraduate students can learn more on the Application for Undergraduate Graduation web page and graduate students can learn more on the Graduation Info web page.
May
Late May Continuing students who have been awarded for the 2025-26 aid year, and have signed up for summer courses, can view their summer 2026 financial aid eligibility in my.SDSU.
June
June Continuing students who submitted a 2026-27 FAFSA or CADAA, and have no required documents pending, can view their fall 2026-spring 2027 financial aid eligibility in my.SDSU.
June 26 Thesis submission (strict 2:45 p.m. deadline): Final day for students to submit their thesis with a processing fee to Montezuma Publishing for thesis review to have the best likelihood for graduation in summer 2026.
July
July Attend New Student Orientation for first-year students and parents/families (registration required).
July 31 Last day for students to meet the Incoming Student Early Action Deadline in Aztec Scholarships to be considered for award decisions made in August for the 2026-27 academic year (11:59 p.m.).
August
August Attend New Student Orientation for transfer students and parents/families (registration required).
Mid-August Attend New Graduate Student Orientation.
August 7 Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the College of Graduate Studies by department or college.
August 14 Thesis publication (strict 2:45 p.m. deadline): Thesis review process, including publishing, must be completed on this date at Montezuma Publishing. Applicants for graduation who miss the final deadline will be automatically evaluated for graduation in future terms.
August 17 The maximum undergraduate registration units for fall 2026 increases from 18 units to 21 units. Students requesting to enroll in more than 21 units must receive approval from their academic advisor.
August 18 Strict 2:45 p.m. deadline: Final day for students to submit their thesis with a processing fee to Montezuma Publishing for thesis review without having to reenroll in 799B the following term.
August 19 First day of fall semester.
August 21 Basic Tuition and Fees payment deadline for students, including Non-Resident Tuition and/or Professional Program Fees, if applicable. Enrolled courses will be subject to disenrollment if payment is not made on time. Review the How to Pay Tuition and Fees and Other University Charges web page.
August 21 All-University Convocation.
August 21-30 Welcome Week.
August 23 New Student and Family Convocation.
August 23 Last day for students to officially withdraw for fall semester and receive a full refund. All refunds for withdrawal are subject to an administrative fee.
August 24 First Day of Classes.
August 24 A $50 late registration fee will be assessed to students who begin enrollment into courses beginning August 25.
August 28 Course Repeat Petition submission deadline. This is the last day an advisor can file the petition via my.SDSU on behalf of the student. Learn more about Undergraduate Course Forgiveness and Course Repeat.
August 30 End of Waitlists. This is the last day a student can remain on the waitlist and be auto-enrolled if a seat opens. After this date, waitlists are closed.

September 4
Students may only enroll for a class during this period by permission number. Enrollment in open seats is not automatic nor guaranteed.
September
September 2 Administrative drop deadline. A student may be administratively dropped for non-attendance or lack of required course prerequisites.
September 4 Schedule Adjustment Deadline. Last day to add, drop, or change grading basis (11:59 p.m. deadline).
September 4 Last day for students to officially withdraw from the university without a $20 Late Withdrawal penalty fee for the fall 2026 semester. Withdrawal requests after this date are accepted by petition only. Please review Money Matters for the refund policy and schedule.
September 4 Last day to apply for fall 2026 graduation with a bachelor's degree or advanced degree. Undergraduate students can learn more on the Application for Undergraduate Graduation web page and graduate students can learn more on the Graduation Info web page.
September 4 Last day for students to file petition for concurrent graduate credit for the fall 2026 semester.
September 4 Last day for students to opt-out of Immediate Access or Day1Ready for online course materials (if applicable).
September 4 The last day for students to enroll in the Tuition Installment Payment Plan. Review the Payment Due Dates web page.
September 4 Last day for students to submit an application in Aztec Scholarships to be considered for awards in the 2026-27 academic year (11:59 p.m. deadline).
September 7 Holiday—Labor Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.

September 21 Census.
September 21 Last day for students to submit a Petition for Late Schedule Adjustment requesting a fall 2026 course withdrawal without a "W" on the transcript. Any approved requests received after this date will result in a "W" on the transcript.
October
October 1 Applications for admission or readmission to San Diego State University for fall 2026 are accepted. Undergraduate applications are NOT accepted after November 30. Graduate applicants should consult Graduate Admissions for closing dates.
October 1 The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for the 2027-28 academic year.
October 1 The California Dream Act Application (CADAA) is available for the 2027-28 academic year.
October 9 Indigenous Peoples' Day.

November 1 Last day for students to officially withdraw from all classes for fall 2026 and receive a prorated refund (withdrawal after September 4 requires special approval and a penalty fee is assessed).
November 11 Holiday—Veterans Day. Faculty/Staff holiday. Campus closed.
November 20 Tuition installment plan due date. Review the Installment Plans web page for more information.
November 25 No classes, but campus is open.
November 26-27 Holiday—Thanksgiving recess. Faculty/Staff holiday. Campus closed.
December
December 11 Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the Division of Graduate Studies by department or college.
December 11 Last day for students to submit a fall 2026 Petition for Late Schedule Adjustment.
December 11 Last day of classes before final examinations.
December 12-18 Final examinations. Review the Fall 2026 Final Exam Calendar.
December 11 Thesis publication (strict 2:45 p.m. deadline): Thesis review process, including publishing, must be completed on this date at Montezuma Publishing. Applicants for graduation missing the final deadline will be automatically evaluated for graduation in future terms.

December 31 Last day for submission of incomplete and RP grade removals (excluding thesis) for December 2026 graduation with an advanced degree.
