Spring 2026 Registration Timeline. All dates are listed in detail on this page.

October
October 1, 2025 Spring 2026 student registration appointments are available in my.SDSU. Students can begin adding courses to their shopping cart. Review How Do I View My Registration Window? to learn more.
October 1, 2025 File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
November
November 5, 2025 Spring 2026 registration begins. Students must check the my.SDSU Financial Account tile for the payment deadline.
November 5, 2025 Applications available for spring or summer 2026 graduation with a bachelor's degree or advanced degree. Undergraduates can learn more on the Application for Undergraduate Graduation web page and graduate students can learn more on the Graduation Info web page.
November 6, 2025 Spring 2026 basic tuition and fee payments accepted.
January
January 1 Holiday—New Year's Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
January 13 The maximum undergraduate registration units for spring 2026 increases from 18 units to 21 units. Students requesting to enroll in more than 21 units must receive approval from their academic advisor.
January 15 First day of spring semester.
January 16 Tuition and fees, non-resident, out of state international student fee and professional program fees due for the Spring 2026 Semester.
January 19 Holiday—Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
January 19 Last day to officially withdraw for the spring 2026 semester and receive a full refund.
January 20 First Day of Classes.
January 20 Beginning on the first day of classes, refunds for withdrawals will be prorated based on the percentage of the term completed.
January 20 Students enrolling beginning on the first day of classes will be charged a late registration fee.
January 26 Course Repeat Petition submission deadline. This is the last day an advisor can file the petition via my.SDSU on behalf of the student. Learn more about Undergraduate Course Forgiveness and Course Repeat.
January 26 End of Waitlists. This is the last day a student can remain on the waitlist and be auto-enrolled if a seat opens. After this date, waitlists are closed.
January 27-February 2 Enrollment during this period is by permission number only. Enrollment in open seats is not automatic or guaranteed.
January 29 Administrative drop deadline. Students may be administratively dropped for non-attendance or lack of required course prerequisites.
February
February 2 Last day to apply for spring or summer 2026 graduation with a bachelor's degree or advanced degree. Undergraduates can learn more on the Application for Undergraduate Graduation web page and graduate students can learn more on the Graduation Info web page.
February 2 Last day to file petition for concurrent graduate credit for spring semester 2026.
February 2 Schedule adjustment deadline. Last day for students to add or drop courses in my.SDSU or submit a request for the credit/no credit grading option in classes that qualify (11:59 p.m. deadline). Last day for faculty to add students.
February 2 Last day to opt-out of Immediate Access or Day1Ready for online course materials (if applicable).
February 16 Last day for students to submit a Petition for Late Schedule Adjustment requesting a spring 2026 course withdrawal without a "W" on the transcript. Any approved requests received after this date will result in a "W" on the transcript.
February 16 Census.
March
March 2 Cal Grant and California Middle Class Scholarship deadline. For new undergraduate admits who want to be considered for a Cal Grant and all undergraduate students who want to be considered for a California Middle Class Scholarship, be sure to file the FAFSA or CADAA by March 2, 2026.
March 5 Primary Election.
March 9 Aztec Scholarships General Application opens.
March 20 NCAA Tournament. No classes will be held, but campus will remain open.
March 21 Last day to officially withdraw from all classes for spring 2026 and receive a prorated refund (withdrawal after January 30 requires special approval and a penalty fee is assessed).
March 27 Thesis submission deadline (2:45 p.m.): final day to submit thesis for review, with the processing fee, to Montezuma Publishing to have the best likelihood for graduation in spring 2026.
March 30-April 3 Spring recess.
March 31 Holiday—Cesar Chavez Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
April
April 10 Aztec Scholarships Current Student Early Action Deadline.
May
May 6 Last day of classes before final examinations.
May 6 Last day to submit a spring 2026 Petition for Late Schedule Adjustment.
May 6 Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the College of Graduate Studies by department or college.
May 7-13 Final examinations.
May 14 Graduate Student Commencement, San Diego Campus and Commencement, Imperial Valley Campus.
May 15-17 Commencement, San Diego Campus.
May 15 Thesis Publication Deadline: thesis review process, including publishing, must be completed by 2:45 p.m. on this date at Montezuma Publishing to meet graduation requirement. Students missing the final deadline will be evaluated for graduation in the upcoming semester.
May 21 Last day for submission of incomplete and RP grade removals (excluding thesis) for May 2026 graduation with an advanced degree.
May 21 Avoid re-enrollment in 799B: final day, by 2:45 p.m., to submit thesis with processing fee to Montezuma Publishing without having to enroll in thesis 799B the following semester.
May 21 Grades due from instructors, 11 p.m. deadline.
May 21 Last day of spring semester.
