October
October 2, 2018 Personal registration information available in the SDSU WebPortal.
October 8, 2018 Spring 2019 basic tuition and fee payments accepted.
November
November 1, 2018 Spring 2019 registration begins.
January
January 21 Holiday—Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
January 22 Last day to officially withdraw for the spring 2019 semester and receive a full refund.
January 22 First day of spring semester.
January 23 Last day for nonresident (foreign and out-of-state) students to pay deferred tuition and not incur service charges.
January 23 First Day of Classes. Faculty can begin to add students from class section wait lists. If a seat becomes available, students on the wait list will be added automatically. Faculty can select the number of students to be added to each course section through the class rosters available in the SDSU WebPortal.
January 23 Fee payments accepted with late fee. Last opportunity to pay basic tuition and fees on January 22 by 3:30 p.m.
January 29, 11:59 p.m. Auto Enroll ends
January 30—February 5 On the sixth day of classes through 10th day of classes, faculty must monitor their class rosters and determine if students may be added to the wait list to meet the enrollment needs for the class. Students will not be automatically enrolled unless faculty add the seats from their wait lists, even if a seat becomes available.
January 31 Last day for faculty to drop students from classes.
February
February 5 Schedule adjustment deadline. Last day for students to add, drop, or change grading basis (11:59 p.m. deadline). Last day for faculty to add from their wait list.
February 5 Last day to officially withdraw from the university without penalty fee for spring semester 2019.
February 5 Last day to file petition for concurrent master's degree credit for spring semester 2019.
February 5 Last day to file application for bachelor's degree or advanced degree for May and August 2019 graduation.
February 19 Census.
March
March 23 Final Day for submitting thesis with the $50 processing fee to Montezuma Publishing for thesis review to have the likelihood for graduation in May 2019.
March 26 Last day to officially withdraw from all classes for spring 2019 and receive a prorated refund (withdrawal after February 5 requires special approval and a penalty fee is assessed).
March 29 Last day of classes before spring recess.
March 29—May 24 Thesis may be submitted to Montezuma Publishing on an at-risk basis with $50 processing fee. However, May 2019 graduation is contingent upon completion of final processing by 12 p.m., May 11. Students missing this deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to graduate.
April
April 1 Holiday—Cesar Chavez Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
April 1-5 Spring recess.
April 8 Classes resume.
May
May 9 Last day of classes before final examinations.
May 9 Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the Division of Graduate Affairs by department or college.
May 10—16 Final examinations.
May 16 Commencement, Imperial Valley Campus.
May 17 Final thesis review process, including publishing, must be completed by 12 p.m. on this date at Montezuma Publishing to meet graduation requirement. Students missing the final thesis review processing deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to graduate.
May 17—19 Commencement, main campus.
May 17 Last day for submission of incomplete and RP grade removals (excluding thesis) for May 2019 graduation with an advanced degree.
May 24 Final day to submit thesis with a processing fee to Montezuma Publishing without having to enroll in Thesis 799B the following semester. (Noon deadline.)
May 24 Grades due from instructors. (11 p.m. deadline.)
May 24 Last day of spring semester.
